Proud hosts of the International SFTE Symposium in October 2026! See "Symposium 2026" page for details and how to get involved
Our North Texas Chapter is hosting the International SFTE Symposium in October 2026! Planning has already started and we'd love to have you on board to bring the international symposium back to DFW with a Texas‑sized welcome and world‑class program.
See below for more information and contact symposium2026@sfte.org to get involved.
What’s next (2025):
Summer–early fall: lock in the venue, pick the theme, and create a promo
Fall–winter: semi-monthly planning huddles to organize workstreams, refine the budget, launch marketing, and recruit sponsors and exhibitors
Looking ahead (2026):
We’ll add a few more planners and ramp cadence as the event approaches
Time commitment:
~1–2 hrs/month in 2025, then a modest increase in early 2026; heavier lift only as we near symposium week
Where you can support (goal: ~2 people per committee - highlighted items are top needs):
Co-Chair - coordinate with committees and lead overall planning
Audio / Visual – select vendor and coordinate setup using past playbooks
Social Events – Monday social, Wednesday dinner, Friday tour
Registration – work with HQ on site setup, pricing, discounts
Financial – track costs with proven spreadsheets from past symposia
Venue – hotel selection & coordination (active now)
Exhibitors – coordinate with HQ to recruit and support vendors (active now)
Corporate Sponsorship – bring companies on board and steward benefits (active now)
Catering – menus for breakfasts, lunches, and awards dinner
Branding / Comms / Publicity – partner with HQ to get the word out
Courses / Training – Monday short courses: selection & coordination
Technical Program / Schedule – solicit/review papers, build the agenda
Designed to fit busy lives
You won’t be left to figure it out alone: HQ provides experienced staff support, templates, and guidance from prior chairs. Much of the “fun” work spins up in 2026—so if your bandwidth is tight now but opens next year, still jump in.
